eL Seed (FR/TN)
Painted canvas, UV lamp
90 x 90 cm
At first sight, Lucid reads “Anyone who wants to see the sunlight clearly” in eL Seed’s signature Arabic ‘caligraffiti’, written in bold, white, fluorescent paint. However, the work is not all it appears to be – a black on black layer continues the phrase “... needs to wipe his eyes first”. The piece is a message of hope, of meaning being born by both light and darkness, and refers to the importance of personal action for a collective and lucid future.
